About Pam Drum
I’m a busy full-time IT project manager at a large university and a fiction writer. I’m the 50-ish mom of 3 grown kids and the grandma of 4 almost 5 kids. I’m married to a wonderful man and have a cat named Simon who thinks he’s a person, only drinks water out of a tumbler, and feels that he must be touching me at all times when I’m at home.
So you can see that I really don’t have time to have Lupus SLE and Fibromyalgia… but I do.
I’ve noticed that certain foods make me worse (sugar, caffeine, breads, grain). After I had a serious flare and wound up walking with a cane for 2 days, I decided enough was enough. I started investigating ways to eat. I’d read about leaky gut and had heard that non-processed foods were good for Lupus and Fibro, but after I watched a video on Amazon called “The Perfect Human Diet,” I decided to go Paleo. I’ve been at it for over 2 months now and I haven’t had a serious Lupus flare in that time. I feel better. I’m thinking sharper. I’m sleeping better. I’m hopeful.
But I keep that stupid cane by the back door to remind me…
